Towns and villages across Norfolk welcome EV charge points

Working with partners, Norfolk County Council has announced the installation of 34 new Electric Vehicle (EV) charge points across the county and at Norwich Park and Ride sites.

Through this latest round of installations, the total number of public charging stations in Norfolk has now hit 772. These particular installations will ensure that it is not just urban areas fit for the future, the council explained, with towns and villages across the county not being left behind in the EV revolution.

They fall under “Plug in Norfolk” which is a community-focused initiative that has aided businesses and organisations throughout Norfolk access EV charging. Locations to receive chargepoints include Sheringham, Poringland, Martham and Worstead.

South Norfolk Council have been a key partner through this latest rollout, using their own grant funding alongside Norfolk County Council’s various EV funding streams. This has supported the installation of charge points across the South Norfolk area, as well as solar arrays at community venues including village halls.
