Of course, these nationally significant infrastructure projects are helping to make our energy supply cleaner and greener – but their benefits go far beyond that. This includes economically, providing jobs to rural areas in East Anglia that would not usually benefit from the same opportunities as their urban counterparts, and environmentally, protecting some of the region’s most precious environments, including its coastal regions and wetlands. A cleaner, greener energy supply also means better health outcomes, such as giving locals better air to breathe.
