Great British Energy has unveiled a £10 million partnership with new metro mayors, who will be tasked with leading the creation of innovative new clean power projects across the country.
Each mayoral strategic authority across England is set to be invited to apply for a share of funding as Great British Energy works to support local energy projects across the UK. The Mayoral Renewables Fund is open now for applications – running through until 22 April – and is pledging to back clean power deployment through renewable energy generation projects and empowerment of local government.
Eligible authorities include Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, as well as Greater Lincolnshire. The funding will be awarded to projects that can be delivered in the next year, ensuring an impact can be made as quickly as possible.
