Another milestone for the Norwich to Tilbury project

National Grid has submitted an application for a development consent order (DCO) the Planning Inspectorate for the Norwich to Tilbury project which, if approved, would be another key milestone on the project’s journey.

New training programme launched for the energy sector

Opergy and McKinnon Burnett Associates have come together to launch the Renewables Connect platform, offering a comprehensive introduction to the clean energy sector, giving participants the knowledge and insight they need to pursue employment in it.

Progress for East Anglia THREE

A four-legged jacket foundation for ScottishPower Renewables’ £4 billion East Anglia THREE offshore wind farm has now been fixed to the seabed, 69km off the coast of Suffolk, marking another key moment for the project as its offshore construction programme unfolds.

Battery storage plans for South Norfolk

An application ahs been submitted to South Norfolk Council for a battery energy storage system in Keswick, capable of holding up to 400MW of electricity.

Sizewell C hosts careers fair

Sizewell C hosted its second Ipswich-based careers fair of 2025 as it strives to connect local people with job and training opportunities, with the event at the University of Suffolk welcoming more than 500 attendees and featuring over 20 supply chain partners.

Solar energy to power long-term climate measurements

The Weybourne Atmospheric Observatory in Norfolk will now be powered by a new solar array, set to generate 30,000kWh of electricity every year, providing 40% of the power the observatory needs to run and keep providing long-term continuous measurements of greenhouse gases, air pollutants and meteorological conditions.

Norfolk celebrates 2 million journeys by Beryl

Norfolk County Council, together with Beryl and National Grid, is celebrating after the county’s shared transport scheme hit more than 2 million journeys, spanning 5.79 million kilometres, since its launch in March 2020, with more than 100,000 people using the bikes.

Solar boost for Thetford leisure centre

Breckland Leisure Centre is set to get almost half (45%) of its electricity from solar, saving thousands of pounds per year, after a recent installation of solar panels on its roof which should see carbon emissions cut by 38 tonnes a year.
