New partnership to safeguard Woodbridge Tide Mill

Sizewell C has announced a new partnership with the Woodbridge Tide Mill Museum through which, it says, the Mill will be safeguarded for “generations to come”.

Woodbridge Tide Mill is the only operational tide mill in the UK that is still milling and selling flour, with the museum guiding visitors through its 854-year history, including exhibits that showcase ancient machinery and traditional techniques that are still used to process locally grown grain today.

A three-year corporate membership has been agreed between Sizewell C and museum trustees, as the museum looks to fundraise £60,000 to carry out urgent repairs to its exterior.

Ian Jacob, Chair of the Woodbridge Charitable Trust, explained: “The Mill faces enormous challenges in maintenance, repair, and volunteer shortages, along with a constant need for funding. This corporate membership will be key to keeping the Mill running for future generations.”
