Equinor has announced that a new interactive wind farm exhibit is now open in Sheringham.
With the UK celebrating 25 years of offshore wind and Equinor marking more than a decade of operations in the East of England, the newly refurbished Windscape exhibit features six new activity zones for visitors to explore, along with the ability to use binoculars and telescopes to look out at the Sheringham Shoal and Dudgeon offshore wind farms at sea.
Windscape now has an updated display space which is designed to appeal to all age groups, using films, touch screens, graphics and a dress-up area to ensure offshore wind technology and the aforementioned windfarms are made more accessible. There are facts and imagery helping to illustrate the context and scale of the projects while demonstrating what opportunities are on offer in the region.
Sophie Skipp, Norfolk Stakeholder Manager for Equinor, said: “The exhibit also showcases the positive impact the wind farms have had on our community, whilst allowing visitors to learn more about offshore wind and the wide range and breadth of careers they can aspire to. The Sheringham Shoal and Dudgeon Community Funds have already awarded grants valued at £1.65m and they will continue to support many community projects in the years ahead.”
