Cranfield Aerospace Solutions and Reaction Engines expand hydrogen collaboration

Reaction Engines and Cranfield Aerospace Solutions are to expand their collaboration and explore additional aerospace applications for their zero-emission propulsion technology.

Signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the agreement represents an expansion of the pair’s respective efforts to develop applications for their hydrogen fuel-cell powertrain design and system integration capabilities across a range of sustainable aerospace platforms. It also marks a significant step forward in maximising the potential of their collective expertise and delivering practical sustainable aviation solutions across a whole host of applications.

The MoU builds on the close working partnership Cranfield Aerospace and Reaction established through the Aerospace Technology Institute funded “Project Fresson” back in 2021. This has been focused on the development of a zero-emissions hydrogen fuel cell aircraft demonstrator.
