The UK’s live construction equipment expo, Plantworx, has played host to its first ever end-to-end demonstration of hydrogen power generation.
This saw Hydrologiq deploy a hydrogen-powered fuel cell generator supplied by Renewable Generation Limited, which then powered an electric vehicle (EV) charger from BAM Charging Solutions, as well as a mobile battery storage unit and site accommodation unit from Nixon Hire. Through this, they were able to show the “vast potential” of hydrogen in replacing loud, polluting diesel generators as the main source of heavy-duty power for the construction industry.
Fuel cell hydrogen generators are able to match the performance and efficiency required for demanding construction applications, while reducing carbon footprints by up to 98%. “Compared to the rumbling diesel-powered plant on display at Plantworx, our end-to-end demonstration ran whisper quiet with water vapour the only by-product,” explained Benjamin Lindley, Hydrologiq Director, before paying tribute to the companies involved in the demonstration. “Collaboration is key to building a clean, quiet and sustainable future powered by hydrogen.”
