The recently launched UK Business Climate Hub is striving to help businesses in Britain to reduce their energy bills and cut their carbon emissions.
Through the “one-stop-shop” – a website which can be accessed here – businesses can access a free carbon calculator. They can also explore a host of different tools, supporting them in measuring, tracking and reporting on their emissions, and then saving money by using less energy.
The target audience for the hub is the 5.5mn small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) in the UK. A majority (90%) of these are eager to take action on climate change. However, to date, they have been stifled by a lack of knowledge on where to begin.
Detailed advice is available on everything from sourcing products from green suppliers and reducing emissions from freight and logistics, through to the most cost-effective ways of installing solar panels and electric vehicle (EV) chargepoints. There are economic gains to be had to, considering how 85% of consumers are more likely to buy from a business with a reputation for sustainability.
